A list of over 100 random facts about me. I don’t know if they’re interesting or not. But seriously, I’ve listed (almost) all random things that I know about myself. Here you go!

TL;DR

 

Agnostic, Apolitical, Bluephile, Brutally honest, Curious, Digital Creator, Finance geek, Microsoft fanatic, Multi-passionate nerd, Overthinker, Perfectionist, Self-made, Workaholic.

  1. I was born in 1985. On the 13th of August to be precise.
  2. I’m a Leo but I know it doesn’t really mean anything.
  3. I’m 5’11”.
  4. I am right-handed but I love to use my left hand as my dominant hand when possible.
  5. I know Malayalam (native), English (professional), and Hindi (elementary).
  6. I hate my name, but I love ‘M’.
  7. I have two elder sisters.
  8. My greatest gift is my dad as he has always believed in me.
  9. And if I know what is unconditional love then it’s because of my mom.
  10. I’m an engineering graduate.
  11. But I took an extra 5 years to complete my graduation. Thanks to the internet. 😃
  12. I don’t lie (or at least I think so).
  13. And I hate liars. Period.
  14. I believe that honesty is STILL the best policy.
  15. I can always be happy with who I am and with what I have — as long as I am healthy and not in the midst of a financial crisis.
  16. And I believe health and finance are the most worrisome factors for any person. It’s actually a well-known fact but I had to mention it because I see people who are unhappy even when they are healthy/wealthy.
  17. I think before I act. And hence I rarely have to say “Sorry”.
  18. I say more “Nos” than “Yes”. And I consider it a privilege.
  19. I used to dance when I was a kid.
  20. My favorites change rarely… in fact very rarely.
  21. I don’t like to follow trends.
  22. I set my own benchmarks. And I stick with it.
  23. I watched the Gangnam Style song only after it hit one billion views and I hate it. Actually, I rarely like trending videos or pics or whatever that goes viral.
  24. I have never played Angry Birds, or Candy Crush, or Pokémon GO, or whatever. And I’ve no idea about how it looks or what it means to others.
  25. In fact, I don’t have a single gaming app on my phone or computer.
  26. I seek value in almost everything I do (and imagine).
  27. And I think I value personal and professional ethics more than anything else.
  28. And I also try to see the logic in almost everything I see/hear.
  29. So I ask A LOT of questions when you say something interesting to me.
  30. I can count the number of friends that I have.
  31. My real-life besties are @NebuSamJohn and @BoneySudhakar.
  32. I’m a bit obsessive about cleanliness and personalization.
  33. I can spend countless hours organizing things so that it looks the way I want.
  34. I try to pay attention to every single thing that I can and I love to pay attention to details.
  35. I try to make sure that things are symmetrical (when it comes to arrangement and organizing stuff).
  36. And I prefer odd numbers over even numbers and I take it way too seriously when it comes to numbering stuff.
  37. I love it when I see things the way I want to see them. But I also make sure that no one notices it unless I disclose it.
  38. I do what I love to do and I do it obsessively and passionately.
  39. I have never read a book in my entire life. Ever.
  40. I don’t like traveling much. In fact, all the trips that I have ever made were for my loved ones.
  41. And I believe it’s because I have always lived a life I don’t need a vacation from.
  42. So I have no such desire to travel the world although I know that it’s the BIGGEST dream of so many people.
  43. I also love to organize my desktops or mobile home screens — like this, this or this (Have you noticed any pattern? Do let me know!) 😉
  44. Everything on my computer is perfectly organized in folders within folder, within folder, within folder…
  45. My desktop is always clean and is free from random icons or documents or shortcuts. In fact, if there is something on my desktop then it must be a “to-do”.
  46. I tend to follow alphabetical ordering when arranging things on my computer and mobile.
  47. And I spend a lot of time on such things that no one ever cares about.
  48. I take the ‘R’ and ‘L’ on my headphones pretty seriously.
  49. My favorite emojis are 🙃, 🤓, and 🤔.
  50. I still love backing up stuff by emailing myself. And the reason is it’s the only way to store files in a static way.
  51. I have no idea what alcohol tastes like. And I never smoked a cigarette too. Seriously.
  52. And no, it’s not because I do not like it — but it’s for the privilege that I get when I say ‘No’ to it.
  53. And I don’t like ice creams as much as you do.
  54. But I like cakes/cookies more than you do.
  55. I prefer coffee over tea.
  56. I love Coke.
  57. And I love French fries.
  58. Diet? Well, I’m a non-veg. But a wanna be vegan (if at all it’s possible for me).
  59. Not a foodie either.
  60. But I do have a taste for food, and I always tend to compare this with that.
  61. I hardly cook — as I rarely get time for it. However, I believe cooking is an art that must be mastered someday.
  62. I’m usually the first person to crack a joke at myself and make others laugh.
  63. I rarely (very, very rarely) get bored.
  64. I don’t swear or use any abusive language (in fact I hate when you use it).
  65. I never had to fight with friends (or others), as in a serious situation, whether physical or verbal — ever since my teenage years.
  66. But I have ignored a handful of friends when I realized that they weren’t trustworthy (to either me or others).
  67. I think I overreact when there’s no real reason. And I may not react when there’s a genuine reason to do so.
  68. I don’t give compliments unless I feel that you truly deserve it.
  69. I hate all those ceremonies, parties, rituals, etc. unless you do it for yourself and not to show off or to please others.
  70. I sound rude until you get to know me. And I guess it’s because of my brutally honest nature.
  71. Also, the problem is… sometimes I don’t know what’s rude and what’s not.
  72. I’m a good listener but if I get excited about the topic then expect frequent interruptions.
  73. If you know me very well then you know that sometimes I don’t get your sarcasms and ironies. And you end up explaining it.
  74. I hate bullying and if you bully me or others then you’re simply giving me a chance to ignore you forever.
  75. I’m obsessed with color ‘blue’.
  76. My favorite number is ‘3’ ever since childhood.
  77. My favorite weekday is “Wednesday” — because of two reasons. Of course, it was “Friday” when I was at school.
  78. And I do not like the idea of starting a week with “Sunday” — it’s supposed to be “Monday”.
  79. I prefer sans-serif fonts over serif fonts.
  80. My favorite font is “Myriad Pro” (yes, that’s the font of my logo too — ever since I started this blog).
  81. I also like the extremely popular “Arial” font as I never get bored of it.
  82. I’m not a lover of open-source software and I really prefer proprietary software. But WordPress is an exception.
  83. I think and overthink about almost everything. And I can easily spend countless hours doing nothing but thinking.
  84. That’s why I like quiet. In the morning, afternoon, evening, and every other time. Well, I’m also a lover of silence.
  85. I just can’t stop caring/thinking about the other side of the coin. Always.
  86. I can live without the internet or even a computer/mobile if I want.
  87. I rarely give promises. Actually, under promise; over deliver — is my personal mantra.
  88. When I do, I always try to keep my promises.
  89. I mean what I say. And I say what I mean. Oftentimes, it gives the impression that I take things literally.
  90. And that’s why I never ever had to take my words back.
  91. And that’s also the reason why I never had to delete my social media posts. Ever.
  92. I never stop Google searching.
  93. And I avoid memorizing stuff that I can Google.
  94. My favorite inspirational people are: Michael Jackson (#Music), Bill Gates (#Entrepreneurship), Warren Buffett (#Investing), Steve Jobs (#Marketing), Elon Musk (#Innovation), and Albert Einstein (#Cosmology).
  95. I love Steve Jobs’ presentation.
  96. I hate Samsung and Android almost equally.
  97. I’m a Microsoft fanatic.
  98. I like brands that are not named after its founder(s).
  99. And that makes Microsoft one of my favorite brands.
  100. I seek perfection in almost everything I do.
  101. And I believe it’s got something to do with excellence.
  102. I love (almost) all things perfect. And natural.
  103. It’s my gift and also my curse.
  104. If I like you then you can’t annoy me easily.
  105. In fact, my patience and my ability to stay calm when people upset me are one of my superpowers.
  106. My tolerance level is super-low when a person I like does something wrong or when they lie unnecessarily.
  107. I rarely repeat the same mistakes.
  108. I take the responsibility for my own words and actions, and I expect everyone to do the same.
  109. I’m very soft-spoken and I hate loud conversations.
  110. Ironically, I love to play my favorite music at higher volume though.
  111. I don’t know how to play any musical instruments.
  112. However, I am pretty good at whistling any song or tune that I like. But ain’t professional.
  113. I used to play cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, and other sports with my childhood friends.
  114. But I quit playing any sports during my early teenage years.
  115. And it’s been 21 years+ since I watched sports matches (not even world cups) on television. Not interested in knowing its scores either. And I don’t even care who wins the match.
  116. The reason is pretty simple — I miss nothing if I do not watch a sports match.
  117. I used to collect stamps as a teenager and then stopped altogether. However, I still have those collections with me.
  118. I easily notice inconsistencies. And hence I can easily point out when your actions don’t match with your words.
  119. And I also notice when things and patterns change.
  120. I had a severe mood swing in 2009. And then I had a depressive phase for over 12 months.
  121. I’m curious about almost everything that I know/wanna know. Actually, my curiosity is something that’s insatiable.
  122. And my latest interest is in cosmology.
  123. I prefer “plastic” money.
  124. And I do not bargain or negotiate (or at least I rarely do) when it comes to pricing. If the price is right then I’ll be happy and if it’s not then I’ll just move on.
  125. I’m curious and passionate about the capital markets. And that’s how I founded Onevestor.
  126. I hate writing or writing is not my thing. But I love blogging. And journaling. And broadcasting. And podcasting.
  127. I started my first blog on Blogger.com (or BlogSpot.com) in 2004.
  128. I registered my first domain name on March 23, 2005.
  129. Later in 2006, I started Minterest as a personal finance blog on WordPress.
  130. And in 2007, I transformed Minterest into a digital marketing & technology journal. Then, I deleted 90% of the blog posts that I’ve done in the first four years as none of them met the criteria that I set later.
  131. I’m a social media enthusiast. But I hate most social networks — or rather, I don’t like the way people/brands use it.
  132. However, there was a time when I was addicted (sort of) to Twitter. Out of mania.
  133. I used to post 1,000 tweets a day and Twitter had to block me from further updation — as that was the maximum number of tweets allowed per day per account.
  134. I don’t read newspapers but I scan almost 100 blogs every week.
  135. My favorite (childhood) superhero was Superman and now it’s Spider-Man. And I guess it’s because of the Spider-Man (2002) movie.
  136. I switched totally to streaming platforms in 2020.
  137. And I no longer watch television channels.
  138. I love watching good movies.
  139. And my favorite movies are mostly realistic/inspiring/logical/crime.
  140. I am not a fan of web series simply because it needs more time.
  141. I take at least fifty percent more time to watch an English movie when I watch it for the first time.
  142. Oh yeah, it’s because I rewind over and over again to reaffirm who’s who and what’s what.
  143. I find it extremely difficult to speak my mind (in a way I want) to recently acquainted people.
  144. And I haven’t done any public speaking in my entire life.
  145. But Voilà! I launched a YouTube Channel — Onevestor — in 2018.
  146. I create the type of content that I want to read/listen/watch/share and that’s how I benchmark the quality of the content that I produce.
  147. I have my hands-on designing, coding, marketing, finance, and content creation.
  148. Out of all, content creation is one single thing that I have always enjoyed — even when I do not share it, even when nobody reads it, even when I do not earn a penny out of it, even when it’s not liked/shared by others.
  149. Needless to say, I create content for the joy of hitting that “Publish” button. And that often feels like I’m on cloud nine.
  150. I don’t even ask my friends/family to LIKE/SHARE my content/social media posts.
  151. In fact, I’m an organic marketing evangelist.
  152. I talk way too fast when I get super excited.
  153. And I have a view/opinion on almost all things in life except when it comes to my haircut. A hair salon is the only place where I sit quietly (as long as they want) without any expectations or requirements.
  154. I prefer asynchronous communication and that’s why I prefer email/messaging over phone.
  155. I don’t like religion, religious talks, religious rituals, etc.
  156. And I think I’m agnostic.
  157. I do not like politics and most politicians.
  158. I hate spam and it annoys me to the core when it’s sent by ‘credible’ sources.
  159. I use things the way it’s meant to be used.
  160. I hate it when people typ lyk dis.
  161. Also, I hate it when I see words with incorrect usage of uppercases and lowercases.
  162. But no, I’m not a grammar nazi. Actually, I hate them.
  163. In fact, my English grades were horrible when I was at school.
  164. I am pretty good with numbers.
  165. And no, I am not a math wizard who does superfast big calculations in mind.
  166. It’s just that I like the precision involved in mathematics.
  167. I avoid using hyphens when I type.
  168. But I love en dashes and em dashes. And yes, I know it’s a weird fact (actually most are), but it’s true.
  169. I like people who display their real name on social media.
  170. I personally don’t like to celebrate my birthdays as I think there are only two days that matters — a birthday and a death-day.
  171. I have a scar on my left palm — the result of an electric shock that happened long time back (or 1997 to be precise).
  172. Oh yeah, I used to spend a lot of time with electrical and electronic stuff when I was a kid.
  173. I hate to see selfies that are taken in front of a mirror.
  174. I will have a special admiration for you if you click amazing pictures and write great content.
  175. I prefer .PNG files over .JPEG files as I hate blurred images. In fact, PNG is my favorite computer file extension.
  176. And next one could be PDFs.
  177. I don’t change my bio often, but I make sure that it’s up-to-date and accurate.
  178. Sometimes I’m motivated and sometimes I’m not. And it really depends upon the five Ws — Who, What, When, Where, or Why.
  179. I have never attended any online/offline courses ever since I graduated from college.
  180. I’m self-made and I never had a 9-to-5 job ever in my life. — and I guess that could be my biggest bragging rights.
  181. Needless to say, I never attended any job interviews either.
  182. And it made me realize that the biggest luxury in my (or probably our?) life is the freedom to do whatever I want to and the privilege to say NO to whatever I don’t want.
  183. And yes, I love being me.
